While at the University of Colorado-Boulder Alexander interned for a local developer for 2 years. After graduation, he moved to New York to break into the real estate industry. At age 21, he was personally recruited by Howard Lorber, the chairman of Douglas Elliman Real Estate. March 2009, after struggling to make rent for a few months, he sold his first property: an $8,175 million penthouse at the Park Imperial. Realizing that he wanted to focus on the trophy market, he went on to successfully list and sell luxury properties in Miami, New York, Aspen and The Hamptons.

Alexander currently spearheads Douglas Elliman’s The Alexander Team, ranking #1 company-wide for GCI in August 2012. Partnering with his brother Tal, who is 11 months older, he handles sales and marketing for Faena House, the renowned 16-story luxury condominium on Miami Beach designed by Foster + Partners[8]), and has listed and sold homes for numerous celebrities, including Justin Long, Jim Ferraro and Timbaland. In 2011, Alexander represented both the seller and the buyer in South Florida’s most expensive residential transaction, dubbed “The $60 Million Dream House” by the Wall Street Journal. Alexander specializes in luxury and trophy homes, often with $20+ million price tags. In 2012, he marketed over $175 million in property, including a $95 million residence in Alpine, NJ. “I sold a house in Miami that my dad built for $47 million over the summer. The price for that house at 3 Indian Creek was a Miami record. I now have a listing in Alpine, NJ, for $49 million,” he told The New York Post in 2013. “My goal is to sell trophy homes worldwide. There are only a few buyers for this type of real estate in the whole world. Knowing them means I can sell them in New York, Miami, St. Tropez, anywhere.”

Alexander appeared in Forbes Magazine’s 2012 “30 Under 30: Real Estate” and was ranked #1 in The Real Deal Magazine’s 2011 “Top 35-and-under NYC real estate players.” He has been profiled in The New Yorker, The Real Deal, The Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, Business Insider and Fox Business with Gerrie.

In the September 2013 issue of Details Magazine, Oren was featured in a story titled Meet the New Rock Stars of Real Estate, where Oren was featured alongside the other top real estate brokers in the United States.

On May 8, 2013, Oren was featured on Season 2, Episode 1 of “Million Dollar Listing: New York”, representing a buyer for a property MDLNY regular Ryan Serhant was selling. Throughout seasons 1 and 2, he also has a number of cameos in various episodes at numerous broker open houses.
